Description
It is located in the heart of the valley, bathed by the waters of the Laval, which springs from a source in the village of Copon. This river contributes a significant motor force, as attested by the presence of at least eight mills. The mill of Rechrival confirms the remains of the milling activity here, which ceased in 1970. This group of buildings is composed of a main residence, two dependant wings around a courtyard-farm, and a porch-tower. Elements of defensive staves surround three sides. Built in 1385, destroyed around 1410, nothing is left of this initial building except a cellar covered with a crested schist ceiling. Rebuilt between 1661 and 1715, for want of descendants, the seigniory was abandoned to a series of individuals. These days, it is partly used for agricultural purposes and partly for tourism (farm stays). (Original text by MT du Pays de Bastogne)
